Hmm…where to begin…I accidentally discovered filmmaking, it’s a funny story I’ll tell you about if we ever meet. I’ve been a DIY filmmaker for over seven years. I’ve produced, directed, shot, edited and designed everything on this site. I’ve even acted a little. Not because I want to be an actor, but out of necessity.
Many, many obstacles have gotten in my way, but I’ve never let them defeat me. Sure, it’s been a bitch most of the time I’ve spent pursuing my dream, but I understand I got to pay my dues. Practice, patience, persistence, and perseverance have been my mottos since day one.
I’ve made so many short movies that I lost count. I sold 28 of them to MTV ITALY (QOOB TV) for a very high ROI. I just finished my first feature film (a mockumentay) and am preparing to self-distribute it. My second feature (a documentary) is in post-production and my third feature (a documentary) is currently in production. I’m developing a shit load of other ideas of various shapes and sizes.
I hope to one day make more ambitious projects that have actual funding and a crew to work with. I enjoy doing everything by myself with no $$$, but it gets old after a while. I just want to focus on producing and directing and be able to hire talented people to fulfill all the other positions.
In other news, I graduated from Ohio State in ‘04 with a degree that society deems worthless. My work has been showcased on IFC (the Independent Film Channel). I have won a few small awards, but they’re tiny ones that no one gives a shit about. I have screened one short film at the Angelica Film Archives for New Filmmakers and a different short for IFP Chicago’s Short Cuts. I was a selected participant for the 2004 Telluride Film Festival Student Symposium. When I am not making films I am searching for the meaning of life and/or pooping on people’s parades.
